August-September 2005 Hi,

In September we’ve got our annual mow of Pam’s wildflower meadow. We’ll be having a BBQ for lunch so please bring whatever you fancy to stick on it.

Hopefully by the time this programme finishes we will have secured funding and started building work here at Arch 5. This will include the construction of a new training/meeting room in which we will be running various courses. We are also starting an Environmental Resource Library and are very happy to relieve anyone of back issues of wildlife & environmental magazines they no longer want!

As a means of helping to raise funds for BTCV Warwickshire, we can exchange scrap aluminium for cash, so all donations of empty drinks cans are very welcome too! Please crush them first if you can.

June-August 2005 Hi,

We’ve got the annual day trips coming up in July. This year we’re off to Carsington Water in Derbyshire. Places are limited on both days so please book yours asap. We will be meeting at the office here in Bath Place at 9.00am. Please bring lunch and shoes suitable for walking in.

We also need volunteers to help man our stalls at Leamington Peace Festival & Warwickshire Rural Show. Please contact the office if you can help.

April-June 2005 Hi,

As mentioned in the last programme 2005 is the Year of the Volunteer, and May is Environment month. If you’ve never tried volunteering before, and fancy doing something that gets you out into the great outdoors May is the month to give it a go.

Join us on one of our many projects and enjoy the benefits volunteering can bring.
Please note that Sunday projects are now running fortnightly.

Feb-April 2005 Hi

2005 is the Year of the Volunteer. If you’ve never tried volunteering before, now is the time to try. The days are getting longer, the flowers are coming up…so why not join us on one of our many projects and enjoy the benefits volunteering can bring.
We are joining Action 21 and Leamington LETS for a Barn Dance on Friday 25th Feb at St Patrick’s Club, Leamington. Tickets: Adults £6 Kids £3. Bring and share supper. To book phone Action 21/LETS on 01926 887119.
We say goodbye to Caz. She has been a great asset to the team and will be missed. We are also welcoming Juan to the Warwickshire team as the new Warwickshire & Coventry Trainer

Sept-Oct 2004 Hi

Changes are afoot in the Warwickshire Office. By the time this programme finishes we should have hopefully recruited a Training Officer for Coventry & Warks.

They will be taking over the assessment of NVQ candidates from Jen Jones and running various courses. Rumour also has it that the new Birmingham, Black Country & Warwickshire Area Development Manager will also be based here, so after years of this being a rather solitary office, I'll have to stop spreading my work over all the desks!

This autumn we're back at Woodlands School in Coventry. We started off their ponds improvement project 18 months ago and now we're going to be finishing it off. There are great crested newts at the school (as well as pupils!) and the project has been designed to improve their habitat and provide a teaching resource (for the pupils, not the newts).
